TeamSpeak developers are close to releasing TeamSpeak 3, the latest version of the popular voice communication tool. While the two versions will be incompatible, due to a complete re-write of the software, version 3 brings a bevy of new features and improvements.
TeamSpeak 3 uses new codecs and technologies to reduce background noise and latency, and improve the overall sound quality. The client sports a redesigned interface, and can be customized with style sheets and add-ons.
Interestingly, TeamSpeak 3 also features 3D sound effects, meaning individual users can be placed in different positions in 3D space. This allows you to know that a voice from the right of you is from a certain person, and more closely reflects actual group conversation.
New releases of TeamSpeak 3 will be made across all platforms simultaneously, meaning whether you’re on Windows, OS X, or Linux, you’ll get new features and bug fixes at the same time as everyone else.
